SUPPORTING CLIMATE INTIATIVES
QBC sponsors lcoal and regional climate intiatives at all levels. Educational conferences, for example, have covered such topics as water conservation, alternative energy advancement and waste mangement. This is QBC’s way to help push the frontiers of research and development in the realm of sustainability.
QBC SCHOOL ECO-PROGRAMS
To help raise awareness of climate change and inspire the next generation to play a positive, proactive role, QBC is involved in a series of engaging school presentations. Public and private school students participate in workshop activities that demonstrate the role of citizens and engineers in combating climate change.
EARTH HOUR
QBC makes an annual commitment to the international event organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). On the last Saturday of March, every year, QBC turns off non-essential lights across its administrative offices and project sites for one hour, in an effort to raise awareness about climate change.
MEMBER OF GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL
QBC is an organization member of the Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC) and is committed to the promotion of sustainable building practices.

From company-wide recycling to educational signage that encourage conservation of water and energy, QBC has launched awereness programs at every employee level.

CARE FOR LABOUR WORKERS
Living arrangements for laborers are healthy and maintained according to international standards. Catering is also provided daily to ensure overall health of each individual. Laborers are transported to and from project sites in new, comfortable air-conditioned buses to combat extreme hot seasons throughout the year.
SPORTS FOR STRESS RELIEF
QBC holds several annual sports tournaments to provide stress relief and better overall occupational health. Teams compete for championships to encourage healthy competition and teamwork among colleagues. Sports have included Football (Soccer), Volleyball and Bowling.

QBC INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
QBC provides high caliber students the opportunity to gain insight into their respective fields by offering a variety of internship opportunities. The program aims to give students real work experience that enhances their academic experience and better prepares them for future careers.
THE QBC FOUNDATION
In the spirit of giving back to our community, QBC allocates a significant portion of our annual budget to make contributions that support over 12 charities with positive, pro-active missions.
QBC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Since 2005, QBC supports students in achieving their educational goals by providing academic scholarships each year. These deserving students attend Qatar Foundation (QF) Education City’s prestigious universities, including Texas A&M, Carnegie Mellon, Georgetown (GU), Northwestern (NW), Virginia Commonwealth (VCU) and Weill Cornell Medical (WCM).
QBC ANNUAL BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN
Delivering on the pledge to be a proactive member of the community, QBC collaborates with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) to hold annual blood collection campaigns. Usually held near national holidays, this humanitarian effort brings together hundreds of QBC donors — from labor crews to top management — to give the gift of life.
PLASTIC BOTTLE INITIATIVE
QBC has partnered with organizations in the region to collect plastic bottle caps at several QBC office locations. With this company-wide initiative, QBC hopes to collect and deliver over 500kg of plastic bottles to be turned into wheelchairs and crutches. This will alleviate waste in our landfills, as well as help the disabled in our community.
