Qatar Building Company (QBC) Shortlisted for the Health and Safety Initiative of the Year in Construction Week Qatar Awards 2012

Qatar Building Company (QBC) highly commended by panel of judges and named 1st runner up for the 2012 Health and Safety Initiative of the Year, with its newly launched Integrated Management System.

(Doha, Qatar) 12 September 2012 – Qatar Building Company (QBC) was shortlisted for the Health and Safety Initiative of the Year award in the annual Construction Week Qatar Awards 2012. The ceremony was held Monday night at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Doha and sought to recognize and reward excellence in Qatar’s burgeoning construction industry. The nomination was focused around QBC’s new Integrated Management System (IMS), launched in August 2011. As the 1st runner up for the award, QBC was “highly commended” by the judges. QHSE Manager Mr. Serkut Akdeniz, comments: “This nomination recognizes the great strides that QBC has made in Health and Safety over the past year. We are committed to our ‘Target: Zero’ more than ever, and it shows in our results.”

Qatar Building Company (QBC) partakes in Earth Hour 2012

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign, Qatar Building Company (QBC) took part in Earth Hour 2012 by turning off their lights on several business premises. All staff was encouraged to support the WWF global initiative.

In its endeavors towards environmental stewardship—as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign—Qatar Building Company (QBC) officially took part in Earth Hour 2012, the world’s largest public environmental action. In addition to encouraging all staff to participate for one full hour on Saturday, March 31, at 8:30pm, QBC coordinated several of its business premises to go “lights out”.
